2nd Annual Forum of the EUSDR

Bucharest, Romania – the 2nd annual forum of the EUSDR was held from 28-29 October 2013 and was jointly organised between the Government of Romania and the European Commission.

The meeting was opened by Mr Valeriu Zgonea, President of the Chamber of Deputies from the Romanian Parliament, Mr Victor Ponta, Prime Minister of Romania, Mr Johannes Hahn, Regional Policy Commissioner and Mr Liviu Nicolae Dragnea, Deputy Prime Minister.

The welcoming addresses continued on by presentation from Mr Titus Corlatean, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania. The focus of the presentation was on the conclusions from the side meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs from 14 Danube countries.

The main goal of the forum was to bring together key stakeholders to support the shown need for joint action and common strategic planning under the EUSDR and also to come together and take stock from first annual fourm and to determine the way ahead. 

During the Forum the special emphasis was given to further development of human capital in the Danube region by networking and putting together capacities of the entreprenurship, ecology, innovations and knowledge society for growth and jobs.


Ms Maja Ljubić, Assistant Director was there as coordinator for the Entrepreneurial Learning working group within the Priority Area 8 of the Danube Strategy and was actively involved in fruitfull discussion of the Steering Committee for the EUSDR PA8.
