5th Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum

Barcelona, (Spain) - The fifth annual forum entitled “Encouraging Business Growth” was held on 22 November 2013.

The Forum was organized by AFAEMME (Association of Organizations of Mediterranean Businesswomen), in the framework of the VII Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders in partnership with ASCAME (Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation.

Some of the topics discussed were: the need for women-friendly financing; access to financing in the Islamic countries for women entrepreneurs; encouraging gender policies which contribute to the eradication of stereotypes; how greatly the economic crisis has affected women in the promotion and growth of their business.

The forum brought together about 200 participants, women entrepreneurs and businesswomen from over fifteen Mediterranean countries, including Croatia. This was an excellent opportunity for businesswomen to network, exchange contacts, knowledge, experiences and examples of good practices.
