7th International Investment Conference - Sarajevo Business Forum 2016 - Prospects for China + 16 CEEC
After welcoming speeches by Mr Amer Bukvić, CEO of Bosna Bank International Sarajevo, Dr Ahmad Mohamad Ali, President of Islamic Development Bank Group and Mr Vjekoslav Bevanda, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance at Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, panel discussion occurred. „One region, One economy – Connecting the region through economic corridors” gathered distinguished participants that highlighted the importance of cooperation between countries in the region for economic development.
Panel discussions that followed brought a lot of subjects to light, like making Central Eastern Europe a New Gateways with the world, highlighting the importance of the Energy sector in the Region and their opportunities, trends and incentives. They also discussed the importance of infrastructural development and challenges in the process, agriculture in a way of creating self-sustainable living environment, the tourism sector as a new leading economic cluster and how to develop world class human capital through educational sector.
Mr Darko Horvat, Croatian Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts and SEECEL's Board Chairman, pointed out that politics is not supposed to create jobs, but must create the conditions for entrepreneurship like enabling good sources of funding in order to encourage business competitiveness and growth of society in general. Mr Horvat, who strongly supports SEECEL for SEE and globally, also said that people who think and act entrepreneurially are very important. In the end, Mr Horvat greeted all attendees and said that everyone is welcome to Croatia, either as guests or as investors.
This year's conference brought together 1,600 participants, of which 750 foreign, 350 accredited journalists and held 250 meetings between businessmen and various investors. Thanks to the participation of numerous government representatives SBF became a good example of public-private partnerships with implementations of all the initiatives launched in the past two days.
