„Become/remain entrepreneur“

Zagreb, 17 March, 2016 - South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL) participated in a Conference „Become/Remain Entrepreneur“, held at Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, financed by European Union's social fund. Project's aim was successfully promote entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurship in general among student population in the area of Zagreb. Carrier of the whole project was Development agency Zagreb in cooperation with SEECEL, with City of Zagreb and Faculty of Economics as strategic partners.

The project, intended for students from the City of Zagreb, organised the Student Business Plan Competition to provide students with entrepreneurial ideas to get their way into entrepreneurship. The competition was divided into two phases: the first phase was the admittance applications and establishing of teams. In the second phase teams developed their business plans with the support of their Mentor. Of these 18 Teams, five teams have been awarded with advanced education of entrepreneurial skills by experts from Development agency, Faculty of Economics and SEECEL. The winning team received training and the ability of pre-incubation in the Technology Park Zagreb, which includes work space and business advisory services, mentoring, networking and education for a period of 6 months.

Further activities include maintenance of advanced training for teams as part of our Start Up Academy and preparation of Brochure, which will include a compendium of seminars conducted and guidance for entrepreneurs with an overview of the most important skills that will be presented at the seminar. Following that, the video compendium with an overview of the most important skills and competencies for entrepreneurship will be available at the website and You tube Channel. They also leased the special web page of Vecernji list which aims to inform potential entrepreneurs about the opportunities that City of Zagreb has to offer to all potential entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, SEECEL and Development Agency will organise two panel discussions in May and June 2016 related to the promotion of the latest trends in entrepreneurial learning in order to gather relevant experts , City offices, Chambers and Associations in the City of Zagreb.

The project " Become /remain entrepreneur " ends in August 2016, with a final conference held on July 7 2016 in Zagreb. Mr Andy Penaluna, professor at the University of Wales and International expert on creative entrepreneurship, already confirmed his arrival at the final Conference. The final conference will offer the results of this project presented with examples of good and successful practices in entrepreneurship.
