Coordination Meeting for SBA Assessments

Brussels, 24 April 2015 - SEECEL attended an inter-agency coordination meeting relating to the assessment process of the Small Business Act for Europe (SBA) in the countries of the Eastern Partnership, of the Western Balkans and Turkey.

The meeting was attended by all the agencies/organisations in charge of the implementation of the SBA: the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Training Foundation (ETF) and SEECEL.

The aim of the meeting was to plan the steps for presenting preliminary findings of the SBA assessment in each country, and to discuss the structure and publication timeline of the SBA report.

At the meeting, SEECEL, together with ETF, presented an overview of the SBA process related to the "Human Capital" dimensions: Entrepreneurial Learning and Women's Entrepreneurship (Dimension 1) and SME skills (Dimension 8a).

SEECEL presented the benefits of the methodology used for assessing these dimensions (including qualitative self-assessments and stakeholder workshops) arguing that by it fosters national/regional ownership, builds capacity and allows for peer-learning.

SEECEL was repredented at the meeting by Maja Ljubić, Assistant Director and Thomas Farnell, Entrepreneurial Learning Expert.
