Council conclusions on entrepreneurship in education and training

EU 2020 Strategy recognizes entrepreneurship and education as a priority for delivering smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. At the meeting in Brussels on 12 December 2014, the Council of the European Union adopted conclusions on entrepreneurship in education and training.

A central feature underlying these conclusions revolves around development of competences which should be addressed at all levels of education and training, with specific regard to schools, VET, higher education and adult learning.

The concept suggests promoting a climate of entrepreneurship and job creation in order to stimulate economic growth. Stated involves strengthening partnership between education systems and businesses, particularly SMEs. Regarding entrepreneurship education, it is recommended to fully exploit the potential of the Erasmus + and to make the best use of European resources such as European Social Fund. Furthermore, the conclusions invite member states to support the exchange of good practices and the cooperation with networks around the European Union.

Finally, as identified by members of the Council all the stakeholders are encouraged to be innovative and creative in response to global changes driven by technology and globalization.

SEECEL is looking forward to continue working on systematic development of lifelong entrepreneurial learning, in line with the Council conclusions.
