Day of the entrepreneurs – „How to implement reforms“

Zagreb, 7 June 2016 – The South East European centre for entrepreneurial learning (SEECEL) attended an annual meeting of the employers named „Day of the entrepreneurs – „How to implement reforms“ hosted by the Croatian Employers' Association (CEA). The meeting gathered more than 800 distinguished guests, including government representatives, academic and civil society representatives and many others.

The President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović had an opening speech where she greeted all attendees and said that the only clear guidance of the capacities and political communion could determine reforms that society needs for future progress. She also added that the real and solid solutions take a lot of time, effort and hard work and a clear future focus. At the end, as one of the major problems she pointed out migration and depopulation.

The President of the Croatian Employers' Association, Ms Gordana Deranja mentioned current unstable political situation in the country, requesting responsibility from politicians and immediate stabilization of the situation in the country, adding that Croatia cannot afford instability.

Croatian Employers' Association also presented the results of the research conducted among the citizens about the implementation of reforms. Results showed that 68.8 % of them considered reforms in Croatia badly needed and, on the other hand, 17.3 % considered reforms unnecessary. 86.9 % of citizens believe that reforms are not implemented because leading politicians lack the vision and courage to implement changes, while 84 % of respondents agreed with the statement that they all want reform, but only if it will not affect their rights.
