Developing an Entrepreneurial Society: Montenegro

The University of Donja Gorica (UDG), Montenegro, will be hosting the second annual School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Youth between 16 and 20 January. A total of 68 secondary school students from nearly all municipalities of Montenegro will attend a one week school event dedicated to entrepreneurial learning.

Students will attend lectures by representatives of institutions and bodies which contribute to the development of a business climate in Montenegro as well as select university professors. Students will also have an opportunity to visit successful entrepreneurs in Montenegro.

The initiative to establish such an event came from UDG alumni who recognized the importance of entrepreneurial learning and the impact entrepreneurship had on their professional and personal development. They particularly stressed the need to understand the importance of innovation and efficiency in every day life.

The first School of Entrepreneurship gathered 34 students and increased interest this year points to a strong culture of budding entrepreneurship amongst Montenegrian students.
