Developing an Entrepreneurial Society: Serbia

Serbia has finalised the preparatory stages of national partnership necessary for development of its national entrepreneurial learning policies. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development started cooperation in early 2009 with a memorandum of understanding that today became full and active cooperation.

This is a culmination of a year and a half of extensive consultations and stock taking process aimed at highlighting difficulties in bridging the gap between education and economy, thus allowing for greater inclusion of entrepreneurship as a key competence in all forms of education.

SEECEL warmly welcomes these new changes and is looking forward to future national developments from Serbia. Partnerships between educational and economic elements are crucial to development of an entrepreneurial society, and Serbia's example is an excellent example for countries from the region that have not yet adopted the same approach.
