Donor Coordination Meeting

Sarajevo, 12 – 13 February 2015 – SEECEL was invited at the the Donor Coordination Meeting organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

The cooperation between donors, international financial institutions and international organizations is important for aid raising and developing capacities in South East Europe and Turkey region (SEET).

The objective of the meeting was to acquire better understanding of regional donnor intervention with regard to the region's needs. Representatives of different international and national oragnizations from around the European Union gathered to participate in various discussion sessions.

“Regional cooperation is a necesity”, said Mr Morten Jung form DG Near while presneting the state of affairs of current EU funding opportunities.

The sessions provided the context for donor coordination and focused on exploring some of the main priorities and challenges. Furthermore, the sessions identified activities and interventions at the regional level towards the funding of the actions related to the SEE 2020 Strategy.

The current state of affairs in three broad areas of intervention was beeing discussed during separate breakout sessions. Finally, the last session included the breakout session’s report and a summary of proposals to enhance donor coordination at the regional level.

Ms Sandra Rončević, SEECEL Assistant Director and Ms Sonja Šagvić, SEECEL Office and Event Manager attended the meeting.
