EU partner countries: teacher training a priority

A European Training Foundation symposium in Istanbul 13 – 15 of July highlighted key issues in teacher training for entrepreneurial learning in seventeen EU partner countries.

Policy makers and teacher training specialists generated a robust exchange of experience through a series of discussions and panels which resulted in elaboration of concrete recommendations that will allow participating countries to promote entrepreneurial literacy at ISCED level 2.

Anthony Gribben, ETF Entrepreneurial Learning team leader, remarked that 'the symposium was clear in its primary recommendation: pre-service entrepreneurship teacher training tops the priority list.'

SEECEL participated in a dual role as a regional institution for entrepreneurial learning as well as a ETF partner institution.

“It was great to have so many enthusiastic policy makers meet – it certainly sends a strong message that EU partner countries are completely open to all modalities of cooperation in reaching a common goal of fostering competitiveness and promoting sustainable growth” said Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director, adding that “there is a unique opportunity here to learn from one another.”
