European Economic and Social Committee Mission to Croatia

Zagreb/Slavonski Brod, 12 – 13 January 2016 – European Economic and Social Committee Delegation held on 12 January 2016 a joint meeting with representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL), as part of their Mission to Croatia on the situation of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, as seen from a civil society perspective.

SEECEL Director Efka Heder presented SEECEL’s concept of support for refugees and migrants, and their integration into society and the labour market through the development of entrepreneurial activities.

The aim of the two-day mission, during which the delegation visited the cities of Zagreb and Slavonski Brod, was to get acquainted with the problems and needs, but also with the successes and best practices, faced by different organizations dealing with the current refugee crisis and thus contribute to the creation of EU policies.

In total Committee will visit eleven EU member states and Turkey.
