Expert Group on Data & Indicators on Entrepreneurship Education - 2nd meeting

Bruxelles, Belgium - entrepreneurial learning encourages an entrepreneurial mindset in the society, the growth of new businesses and more efficient use of creative potential and existing knowledge and skills. As such, entrepreneurial learning is a policy priority of the European Union and EU pre-accession countries, as well as a growing and developing field in today’s learning and education context. The European Commission is developing indicators in order to follow up on full implementation of above mentioned policy.

European Commission’s Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) initiated second meeting of Data & Indicators on Entrepreneurship Education expert group on 13 February 2013 in Bruxelles, Belgium. SEECEL was invited to participate as the regionally recognised expert institution in the field of entrepreneurial learning and it was represented by Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director and Ms Maja Ljubić, SEECEL Assistant Director.

Second meeting of expert work group was divided into two sessions, the aim of first session was to agree on a framework of what needs to be measured and conclude on a set of related existing indicators that are relevant for policy monitoring/development in the European Union.

The aim of second session was to identify regional/national examples of good practice in monitoring entrepreneurship education that could be referred to in the short term and to discuss the relevance of such regional/national examples for data and indicator development at the European level.
