International Conference on Entrepreneurial Learning in Moldova

Chisinau, Moldova – an International conference on Entrepreneurial Learning: Entrepreneurship Key Competence – Policy and Practice in Eastern Partner Region was held in Chisinau in period from 11 – 12 June 2013. The conference was jointly organised by the European Commission, the Republic of Moldova and the European Training Foundation.

The event brought together close to 100 practitioners and policy makers from six Eastern Partnership countries. The aim of the Conference was to debate on entrepreneurship as a key competence within the formal education and non-formal training and to foster collaboration among participating countries in the field of Entrepreneurial Learning

The conference was opened by Maia Sandu, Minister of Education of the Republic of Moldova, Wicher Slagter, head of political section of the EU delegation in Chisinau and Grigore Belostecinic, Rector of the Academy of Economic Sciences, which hosted the event. As an expert institution in the field of entrepreneurial learning, SEECEL was represented by Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director and Ms Maja Ljubić, SEECEL Assistant Director.

The purpose of the conference, sharing of policy approaches and exchange of innovative practices in the development of entrepreneurship as key competence follows the 2012 policy assessment in line of the EU’s Small Business Act in the Eastern Partnership region. The countries are facing common challenges and they can learn from each other’s experience. The EU’s experience in this area may also serve as an inspiration.
