Joint Steering Group Meeting with PA 7 & PA 8 and 10th Meeting of the Steering Group of Priority Area 8

Budapest, 9-10 December 2015. The two day event commenced with the Joint Steering Group Meeting with PA 7 & PA 8. The meeting was chaired by Dragica Karajić and was focused on Identification and development of macro strategic projects and initiating of cooperation and financing (also supranational).

The agenda included the presentation from Joint Research Centre on Smart specialization/ RIS 3 projects in the Danube region and the "Latest information from Brussels" - report by Csaba Hende, from DG Regio.

In addition, participants were informed about Danube-INCO.NET project, the 2015 EUREKA call for the Danube Region which was followed by the discussion on joint strategic initiatives and projects.

On the following day (10th of December) the representatives of the Steering Group of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), met regarding the Priority Area 8 (PA 8).

Central features underlying this meeting were sharing information on the main achievements in 2015 and news which are relevant in terms of implementing future projects and next steps in 2016.

Following the presentation of main achievements in 2015 the Working Group Leaders have presented the milestones and achievements in 2015 for each Working group of PA8.

Ms Maja Ljubić, SEECEL Assistant Director presented achievements in 2015 and discussed the targets and actions for 2016 for the Working Group (WG) - Entrepreneurial Learning. Achievements of the WG for entrepreneurial learning in 2015. summarized in SEECEL’s – “Activity Report Entrepreneurial Learning Working Group” include:
·         Developments under the WE project: The development of a new set of WETNAS indicators, training modules and WE promotional videos
·         Entrepreneurial learning - More than 7500 students, 500 teachers and school management in EL school teams directly involved
·         Training NeedsAnalysis and Quality Assurance for SMEs publication based on the Survey analysing SME training needs -2557 SMEs in 8 countries
·         Promotion of Human Capital as a Source of Prosperity Workshop
 
Goals of the 10th meeting included: update on implemented and planned actions of WG, revision of targets of PA 8, further cooperation approaches within the EUSDR and report on the work of the socio-economic-study.

According to the agenda, main achievements in 2015 in terms of actions and/or project implementation were outlined which was followed by discussion on targets of PA 8.

Furthermore, attendees were informed about the latest news with regard to on INTERREG V B Danube Transnational Programme and collaboration with the Danube Strategy Point in Brussels.
