Meeting of the EPG and the Network of SME Envoys

Brussels, Belgium – a meeting of the EPG and the Network of SME Envoys was held in Brussels on 10 June 2013. The expert group 'Enterprise Policy Group' (EPG) was set up with European Commissions’ decision on 8 November 2006. The group is composed of two Chambers: the Directors-General and the Business Chamber. The EPG Directors General Chamber consists of Directors General of Member States' public administrations responsible for industrial and enterprise policy issues.

The EPG Business Chamber consists of business representatives with substantial management experience in private enterprises. As part of the Review of the Small Business Act for Europe (SBA), the Commission invited Member States to nominate a national SME Envoy to complement the role of the European Commission's SME Envoy. Together with representatives of EU-level SME business organisations, the Network of SME Envoys will make up an SBA advisory group.

Meeting of the EPG and the Network of SME Envoys was chaired by Daniel Calleja, EU SME Envoy and Director-General, DG Enterprise and Industry. The Croatian delegation was led by Mr Dražen Pros, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia.

Mr Pros addressed the meeting with the speech on how to drive forward entrepreneurial education in each country. SEECEL was represented by Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director. The main subject of the meeting was theme “Drivers of industrial competitiveness”. Among others, the meeting subjects were as well: “Smart Regulation – Reduction of administrative burdens”, “Green Action Plan for SMEs”, “SMEs and internationalisation – Access to markets” and “Entrepreneurship Action Plan”.
