National launch of the „Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South East Europe“ regional project, 10 September 2012, Istanbul, Turkey

During the 6th Western Balkan NGO Forum called FREJA Forum, hosted and organised by Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER), SEECEL and Gender Task Force (GTF) were invited to jointly present the objectives and activities of the „Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South East Europe“ regional project, financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
The national launch of the above mentioned project was strongly supported not only by KAGIDER, but also by the Association for the Support and Training of Women Candidates (KA.DER), by more than 50 key national and international stakeholders and SIDA representatives.

This extensive 3-year project aims to raise awareness on the specifics of the entrepreneurship of women in our region and to enhance the capacities of women entrepreneurs' networks and associations through constructive policy dialogue in line with Small Business Act for Europe.

The project duration is 36 months and it is implemented by SEECEL and GTF in close cooperation with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The location of the project activities and direct actions is the South East European region, namely: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey.

Being a part of the Freja Forum, a platform for networking and co-operation within the non-profit sector for the Western Balkans, Turkey and the European Union (Forum for Regional and EU Joint Activities), for both project partners was a great opportunity to feel the ownership of the Project by Turkish partners.

Freja Forum takes place every year in the second weekend in November, in the Western Balkans and this year the aim of the Freja Forum was to discuss issues of equality, democracy and development for the non - profit sector and civil society.
