PIAAC Assessment of Adult Skills and its Benefits

Zagreb, 28-29 August 2014 – The results of the first Survey of Adult Skills, Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) conducted by OECD in 33 countries was presented at a meeting organized by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, Republic of Croatia; the National Centre for External Evaluation of Education (NCVVO) and the German Adult Education Association (DVV).

The focus of the meeting was to present benefit it brings to the participating countries. Some of the competencies assessed in the PIAAC survey implemented in 24 countries included: literacy; reading; numeracy and problem solving.

Possible sources of funding and possible support to assist the participation in the next round of the survey were presented by the European Commission and the European Training Foundation (ETF).
