The 12th SEECEL Steering Committee Meeting

Kotor, 21 April 2015 - The 12th SEECEL Steering Committee (SC) Meeting (the 4th meeting under the 2013-2016 programming period) gathered respected SC members from eight (8) SEECEL Member States in Kotor, Montenegro.

The Chairman and Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia Mr Gordan Maras welcomed the members of the International Steering Committee by presenting the programme for this meeting that was quite multi-purposed.

The SC members had an opportunity to listen about the progress of various SEECEL activities with special focus on the future planning and construction of SEECEL building.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between the host, Montenegrin Directorate for Development of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) was signed, as a step further to boost collaboration in the field of entrepreneurship and support to SMEs.

After the regular programme, a visit to SEECEL pilot institution Primary School “Njegoš” in Kotor was organised. The school gathering was opened by a host, Mr Dragoljub Stamatović, Principal of Primary School “Njegoš” and by both ministers, Mr Predrag Bošković, Minister of Education of Montenegro and Mr Gordan Maras, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia.

Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director opened the working part of the meeting where the floor was given to principles and school project teams from hosting school “Njegoš” and other pilot institutions, namely Primary School “Veljko Drobnjaković” from Risan and Gymnasium Kotor, as well as to Ms Nevena Čabrilo from the Bureau for Educational Services of Montenegro. The presentations included not only the implementation of strategic regional piloting but also lessons learned, future perspectives and challenges. The main conclusion of presentations was that only by collaborating together and having a vision, students in schools can become entrepreneurs. There are many benefits of taking part in SEECEL project, and one of them is that teachers are enjoying teaching again; was one of the many conclusions from the meeting. Mr Dragutin Ščekić, Principle of Primary School “Veljko Drobnjaković” was moderating this gathering as a representative of a mentor school.         

During the school visit, the educational and entrepreneurial tradition of Kotor and Boka bay were presented where students of primary school “Njegoš” were real stars.

SEECEL team would like to express gratitude to all SEECEL Member States and its key supporters: the European Commission, the Croatian Chamber of Economy and especially the Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts, but especially to school project teams for sharing their enthusiasm and for being excellent hosts in Kotor.
