Social Entrepreneurship in Film Spotlight

The East European Film Alliance (EEFA) Training Network Awards recognizes and promotes the best and most critical new films and documentaries that highlight crucial issues in today's society. The alliance comprises of film makers from EU partner countries and pre-accession countries alike. 

At the most recent Training Network meeting held at the POFF Black Nights international film festival in Tallinin, the Far Encounters documentary from director and screenwriter Vilim Žlender and Marko Stanić was recognized as one of the two best documentary projects. The film covers the story of a student from Zagreb which leaves for Moldova to volunteer and becomes an active organisator of humanitarian projects.

The story, based on real life events, was well received amongst critics and atendees who particularly praised the new and fresh look at grassroots social entrepreneurship.
