Third WEgate Advisory Committee meeting

Brussels, 30 June – 1 July 2016 - The South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL) participated in a „Third WEgate Advisory Committee meeting“ at Brussels, organised by The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), founded by the European Commission.

EASME's aim is to help create a more competitive and resource-efficient European economy based on knowledge and innovation, providing a high quality support to all beneficiaries, turning EU policy into action. They are also ensuring that actions funded by various programmes deliver results and provide the Commission with valuable input for its policy tasks.

SEECEL, together with European Training Foundation (ETF) was invited as an expert body to take part in the work of advisory committee for drafting the platform named WEgate (women entrepreneurs). The platform is intended to bring together all relevant stakeholders and the European network of female entrepreneurship ambassadors and mentors to update, upgrade, animate and maintain the European online e-platform for female entrepreneurs between 2016–2018.

The general objectives of the platform are to provide crucial information and support on access to finance and how to start and grow businesses to current and aspiring women entrepreneurs, as well as signposting training and learning opportunities, mentoring programmes, good practice and case studies and success stories, exchange and cooperation among aspiring and current women entrepreneurs and stakeholders, with an emphasis on the cross-national, European dimension and improving the reach of existing networks and support services.

The official launch is expected on 30 September 2016 in Brussels.
