Dual Education Conference

Zagreb, 5 December 2016 - The South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL) attended the conference about Dual Education, hosted and organised jointly by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE), Croatian Statehood Foundation and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The goal of the conference was to discuss and try to find a solution for labour shortages in Croatia, having in mind that entrepreneurs required increasing the quota for import workers. Therefore, CCE, with support from the CBA, promoted the need to for dual education, where young people would be ready for the labour market right after they finish their education.

Mr Luka Burilović, president of the Croatian Chamber of Economy stated that dual education is a proactive solution that offers the experience, knowledge and skills necessary for the students in the labour market. He added that the Chamber is committed to introducing a pilot project and a gradual increase the number of students in the system all depending on the needs of the economy.

Ms Martina Dalić, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia highlighted the importance of joint efforts and more efficient communication in order to create a better coherence in the labour market.

All of the participants must try to create an environment that will provide jobs for young people and make them stay in their homeland, with brighter and better entrepreneurial future.

SEECEL's representatives were Ms Maja Ljubić, Assistant Director and Ms Sonja Šegvić, Office and Event Manager.
