Developing an Entrepreneurial Society: Kosovo*

The SME Support Agency, an agency within the Kosovo* Ministry of Trade and Industry, in partnership with numerous public and private institutions organized the Small Business Days 2012 between the 27th June and 30th November. The main objective of this project is to encourage entrepreneurship and foster public-private dialogue with the aim of foster sustainable development of the private sector.

Small Business Days 2012 continue onto Small Business Days 2011, both of which promote actions and objectives of the Kosovo* SME Development Strategy for 2012-2016 which was passed in July 2011. The SME Strategy has seven strategic goals, which are further subdivided into 38 goals and 140 strategic objectives. 

SEECEL was invited by the government of Kosovo* to present within the Small Business Days 2012 on the topic of women entrepreneurs, which is also the seventh strategic goal of the SME Strategy. SEECEL presented regional developments in promotion of women entrepreneurship, focusing on the specifics of women-owned enterprises, women's aspiration to become entrepreneurs and key actions taken at EU and SEE level to promote women entrepreneurs.
