SBA Assessment 2015 in Croatia

Zagreb, 23 – 25 March 2015 - The Small Business Act for Europe (SBA) Assessment Process for South East Europe and Turkey continued in Croatia, with a two-day SBA workshop held in Zagreb.

The SBA workshop, led by SEECEL, focused on the two SBA principles related to human capital: Entrepreneurial Learning (principle 1) and SME Skills (principle 8a). The main purpose of the meetings was to discuss the self-assessment done by Croatian SBA Entrepreneurial Learning experts. During the workshop discussions, experts provided a self-assessment measuring the extent to which Croatia meets the SBA indicators for each of the aforementioned principles.

In addition to the self-assessment, the workshop incorporated a peer-learning component, whereby two visiting SBA experts from the SEECEL partner country, Kosovo*, reflected on similarities and differences between the two countries' pogress in the implementation of the SBA.
The first day workshop was held at two locations, namely, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and National Centre for External Evaluation of Education. The second day workshop was held at SEECEL premises.
SEECEL was represented at the workshop by Mr Thomas Farnell, Entrepreneurial Learning Expert and Mr Stjepan Srhoj, Programme Officer and Liaison.
*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
