SME Assembly 2015
The official part of the conference started with a welcome speech by the HRH The Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and it was the focus of European SME Week and the most important European event for SME policy.
This year´s motto of the Assembly was 'Europe Works for SMEs: Forward. Together' in order to develop SME policy together and co-create innovative ways of cooperation to ensure effective support for entrepreneurs, with special focus on interactive discussion about women entrepreneurship.
SEECEL took part in the EU SME Envoy meeting to present report on entrepreneurship in EU on policies and practice that was a result of a survey performed by SEECEL. It was represented by Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director and Mr Thomas Farnell, Entrepreneurial Learning Expert who held a presentation on these results.
In addition, SEECEL was invited by the European Commission to take part in WES Meeting to present the WE project results and video entitled “From project to process”. At the same Meeting the info on Workshop on Women Business Angel Networks, in the context of a European Parliament Pilot Project on Women Business Angels that the Commission will kick-off shortly, was shared with the participants. The aim of the workshop is to gather relevant stakeholders on women business angels and women entrepreneurship to discuss the issue of women business angels. SEECEL shared its experience in implementing activities related to Women Entrepreneurship – a job creation engine in SEE project.
As with previous years, the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) Ceremony was a key feature of the Assembly. You can find more information on EEPA awards here.
This year, for the first time, the event hosted the final selection of ten entrepreneurs who will have the honour to present their world-changing ideas at TEDx Binnenhof 2016 in Hague.
More than 500 people, well-known and new partners from the world of business, academia, policy making and media were taking part in SME Assembly 2015.
