Technical Working Group Developing Transversal Skills

Brussels, 21-22 May 2014 – The two-day ET2020 Working Group Meeting on Transversal Skills was organized by the European Commission (DG for Education and Culture).

Gathered from different countries, participants had an opportunity to look at the outline of the European Classification of Skills/Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO), a classification which was meant to bridge the world of employment and the world of education and training. They explored the possibilities as to how it might link to the subject at hand – developing the entrepreneurship, digital and online learning.

The key speakers of the meeting were Ms Bessie Dendrinos from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, who spoke on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and Mr Anthony Gribben, from the European Training Foundation (ETF), on “Entrepreneurship Education”, in particular on developing a competence reference framework for entrepreneurship.

The meeting concluded with an update on the developments of the Entrepreneurship360, an innovative online education tool being developed in collaboration with OECD. It is meant to be a guidance framework which will support more entrepreneurial schools and VET institutions.
SEECEL’s Assistant Director, Ms Maja Ljubić, attended in the transversal skills workshops.
