Firstly, the opening statement to the meeting was done by SEECEL Steering Committee Chairman, Mr Darko Horvat, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia. The opening was followed by statements by Mr Simone Baldassarri, European Commission representative, Mr Anthony Gribben, European Training Foundation representative, Ms Vanja Ivošević, Regional Cooperational Council representative and Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director.
After opening statements the floor was given to SEECEL Director, Ms Efka Heder, who presented report on SEECEL activities for period from October 2015 until April 2016. The presentation gave special focus on overview of IPA MB project activities, WE as a job creation engine, SEE 2020 Strategy, European Strategy for Danube Region, European Adriatic – Ionian Strategy, Chambers Investment Forum (CIF), SBA assessment – challenges and opportunities and construction of SEECEL building.
The report included SEECEL in numbers for the reporting period, in specifics the number of people involved in the process and joint results achieved: 863 EL team members, 1.282 teachers and school management, 28.092 students, 42 videos, 935 photos, 2.408 participants in teacher training, 280 teacher development plans, 750 lesson plans and in total 30.500 students, teachers and school management.
Heder also presented future perspectives for SEECEL, including SEECEL strategic options for 2017+, next steps for the ETF – SEECEL „Four Point Plan“, external evaluation and upcoming Entrepreneurial camp that will be held in October 2016 and will gather around 450 participants.
The meeting was continued with a field visit to SEECEL's Entrepreneurial elementary school „Fran Krsto Frankopan“ in Zagreb to experience peer learning activities, where school activities from SEECEL programme were presented to Steering Committee members. Most importantly, they showed how children are learning to think and act entrepreneurially.
SEECEL team would like to express a great gratitude to SEECEL Member States and its key supporters: the European Commission, the Croatian Chamber of Economy and especially to Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts. A special thanks goes to hosting Elementary School Fran Krsto Frankopan but also to visiting schools Elementary School Beyhan Gencay from Hatay, Turkey, Elementary School Arjantin from Ankara, Turkey and Elementary School Sande Stjeroski from Kichevo, FYR Macedonia for sharing their valuable experiences with meeting participants.
With the school year 2015/2016, SEECEL has started with the Peer Learning Visits Programme with its E’ship network for ISCED 1, ISCED 2 and ISCED 3 level of education. Peer Learning Visits Programme is an outcome of SEECEL’s 2013 – 2016 programme supported by the European Commission and Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts to create conditions for embedding entrepreneurship in education systems and development of entrepreneurial societies in SEECEL Member States.
Besides Heder, SEECEL's representatives were Ms Maja Ljubić, Assistant Director, Ms Sandra Rončević, Assistant Director and Ms Sonja Šegvić, Office and Event Manager.
