Western Balkans Business Challenge

Belgrade, Serbia – Western Balkans Business Challenge was held in Belgrade in period from 28 - 29 April 2013. The goal of this competition is to provide students the insight into the modern way of doing business and to motivate them to think proactively and carry out their ideas.

Also the competition emphasizes the importance of connecting youth in the region and the necessity of mutual regional activities. SEECEL was represented by Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director, as a  member of the jury.

During the first day of the competition, students were given the challenge to create a business plan for the product which will be globally successful in the year 2020. They presented their business ideas to the jury on the second day and the winners were announced at the award ceremony. The idea of creating smart glasses that adjust to the dioptre of the person wearing them, won the first place at the entrepreneurship competition Western Balkans Business Challenge.

The winning team members competed with 60 compeers from 43 high schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia. The competition was organized by Junior Achievement Serbia in cooperation with partner organizations Youth Information Agency, Association Initiative and Sociology-economic center, and with the financial support from Balkan Trust for Democracy, Atlantic Group and Saga.
