Women Economic Empowerment

Zagreb, 5 March 2015 - The London headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Croatian Employers' Association (CEA) organized an international conference entitled "Empowering women in the economy".

The conference gathered some of the most prominent representatives of different ministries, business and public organisations.

The main objective of the conference was to encourage strengthening of position of women entrepreneurs in the economy. According to the various studies there is a strong positive correlation between woman entrepreneurship and economic growth.

During the conference different programmes available to women entrepreneurs at national level were presented and the role of women management was discussed. This event was a good opportunity to discuss concrete solutions that could contribute empowering woman in the economies around the European Union.

Ms Sandra Rončević, SEECEL Assistant Director, attended the conference as a speaker to present SEECEL´s achievements and results under the project entitled “Women Entrepreneurship – A Job Creation Engine for South Eastern Europe”.
