Workshop on teaching entrepreneurship to develop entrepreneurial competences held in Slavonski Brod

Slavonski Brod, 4 September 2014 – Experts, advisors, school principals, teachers, professors assembled at the Matija Antun Reljković High School to jointly discuss and learn how to include entrepreneurship in school curriculum. The guidelines for Entrepreneurial Learning (EL) as a key competence in schools’ curriculum were presented.

In her presentation Ms Efka Heder, SEECEL Director, emphasized the significance of entrepreneurial learning: EU entrepreneurial learning policies; key competence approach as a priority and about the importance of all stakeholders actively participating and cooperating in the process. Assisting SEECEL Director in her presentation was Ms Željka Mrkša, SEECEL’s Entrepreneurial Learning Expert/Educational Expert.

In addition to the main workshop, parallel workshops took place. SEECEL’s pilot and mentor elementary school “Ivan Goran Kovačić”, Slavonski Brod, presented an example of how to prepare lesson plans which include entrepreneurial learning. Other topics were on how to generate innovative school projects, using best practice models and how to develop ideas and recognize and seize entrepreneurial opportunities.

As organizers of the event, Ms Sanja McMurtry, Senior Advisor for International Cooperation and Ms Vesna Marović, Senior Advisor for Entrepreneurial Learning, both from Education and Teacher Training Agency, headed the workshop as well as made useful presentations.
